Hello Lenard, I like post because you pointed out the shift in painting styles and writing over the years. I agree that this is a form on enlightenment because the change in these things is very intellectual and philosophical when you dig deep into it. The age of enlightenment dominated the 18th and 19th century and I feel that, that is an important era for every piece of artwork that is forged to this day because of the creativity of the art pieces now.
